Our vision is to be the “must experience” museum that uses past, present and future Kiwi technology and ingenuity to educate and inspire the innovators of tomorrow.
We’re looking for an experienced trade professional to join our Environment & Sustainability team in this newly created role. You’ll be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Environment team (maintenance and cleaning) maintaining MOTAT’s facilities, grounds, and buildings. This role requires a hands-on approach where you’ll be directly involved in some of the larger, more complex projects and will work closely with our maintenance and cleaning team, contractors and others. Completing your mahi efficiently will also require your confidence in planning and the ability to consider the long-term cost benefit of your projects to MOTAT.
As a point of contact between teams, team members, and external parties (both contractors and suppliers), having an understanding of good customer service is required, along with demonstrated project coordination and management skills. You will also be responsible for the ongoing training and development of your team members.
Reporting to the Environment & Sustainability Manager, you will work 40 hours per week with at least one of those days being on a weekend. Our preferred applicant will be able to work Wednesday – Sunday each week, but we may be willing to negotiate down to one weekend day for the right person.
Along with joining a passionate and tight-knit team, some of the benefits you will be entitled to as part of the MOTAT Team include additional employer KiwiSaver contributions, public holiday top-ups, study leave, birthday leave, MOTAT Mates pass for you and your whānau, and regular team events.
