Senior Maintenance Team Member

MOTAT is looking for a Senior Maintenance Team Member to join the team that keep the site maintained and well-presented for our visitors. While being responsible for maintenance-related tasks you will also be involved in some of the larger and more complex maintenance jobs so planning your mahi confidently, efficiently and appropriately is essential. You’ll also be approached to give guidance and advice in relation to larger maintenance tasks so having a trade certification is important.

 

This role has variety so will require you to think on your feet, work both independently and as part of the team, and always identify opportunities for improvement across MOTAT while doing your work.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Undertake larger, more complex maintenance tasks to ensure that MOTAT continues to improve its overall safe site appeal to the visiting public.
  • Carry out regular site checks and maintenance according to approved practices.
  • Liaise with site and building maintenance contractors.
  • Procure supplies and undertake project work with others across the MOTAT Team. 
  • General maintenance and repair of buildings, furniture, and equipment.
  • Complete daily and weekly building WOF checks and schedule maintenance work accordingly.

 

Working days are Wednesday to Saturday (4 days per week) 10 hours each day, 7:30am to 6:00pm.

 

Skills & Experience:

  • 10 years’ experience in a practical maintenance or building environment
  • Skills and knowledge in building, painting, plumbing, and/or electrical work.
  • Understanding of Health & Safety requirements in the workplace.
  • Class 1 full drivers’ licence
  • Class 2 and forklift licences beneficial
