As New Zealand’s largest transport and technology museum MOTAT is home to some of the world’s most unique examples of operational industrial and transport history. The Walsh Memorial Library opened in 1964 and houses an extensive collection of material reflecting the varied collection here at MOTAT. The strength of the Walsh Memorial Library collections is in aviation and other forms of technology.
We are looking for someone to contribute to the delivery of a quality library service, assisting library users with research queries and work across the entire collection, with particular emphasis on published materials. As a member of this close-knit team you will provide support to senior library staff in all aspects of the library and archive. With a focus on assisting visitors with queries, this varied role will include tasks such as enhancing existing Library holdings, conducting database searches and identifying items needing conservation treatment.
The normal days for this role are Monday to Friday, 24 hours per week to be worked during peak hours. Start time is flexible and we are happy to discuss options with you. There is also the possibility of some weekend work.
